At Foss Pest Control we do not require you to sign a contract with us for pest control service. This is an extension of our honesty without compromise business philosophy. We will keep your business by providing a quality service, not by binding you with a written contract. We do however; provide maintenance service in which we will service your home or business at a regular time interval.
How often do I need service?
That really is up to you. We recommend quarterly service for residential customers and some of our commercial customers. Food service and some other higher risk commercial customers will need a monthly service. If you do not feel like you need a maintenance agreement or would like less frequent service or even a one time treatment, we will provide that for you. We will customize a treatment plan to meet your needs.
What kind of treatment can I expect? You can expect a thorough inspection with a detailed interior and exterior treatment of your home. Special attention will be given to the areas that prompted your call without diminishing treatment to the rest of your home. Several monitoring traps will be left behind to help in future inspections Most pest problems come from outside so an important component of the treatment will be to the outside of your home. The exterior will get a three part perimeter treatment as follows:
First a band of material will be applied around the house with a power sprayer. This will prevent crawling insects from approaching the house.
Second a band of baits will be applied outside of the first band. This will help lower ant populations around the house and prevent them from foraging inside.
Finally dusts or liquids will be applied to entry points around doors, windows and weep holes. This kills pests that are harboring in these areas and prevents them from gaining entry into your home.
What pests are covered by this treatment?
This treatment will cover common ants, spiders, cockroaches, scorpions and other common occasion invaders. Insects not covered are Termites and other wood destroying insects, Bees and Bedbugs. We treat all of these pests, but the specialized treatment required is not included in typical maintenance programs. We will gladly provide you with an estimate for these services.
What is your Guarantee?
If you have a maintenance plan with us and have issue between services we will cheerfully treat your home again, no charge, it’s on us.
Termite Control Service
Termites are common here in the Texas Hill Country. Fortunately they are a problem that can be treated effectively and economically. This is an issue that will not go away on its own and is best dealt with before further damage occurs. Waiting a few weeks or months is no big deal, but putting it off for years can lead to very significant damage repair bills. We use Termidor termiticide for our termite treatments and offer full, partial, and spot treatments. Every termite treatment is different, so please give us a call and set an appointment for an inspection. There is no charge for the initial consultation.
I am building a home. How do I protect it from termites?
During construction is an excellent time to treat a house for termites. Parts of the home are accessible for treatment that will be impossible to get to once the construction is completed. There are two ways we can pretreat a house for termites.
The first is a soil treatment. All of the soil under the slab is treated with Termidor before the concrete is poured. Within one year of the completion of the home a band of chemical is applied around the outside of the slab as well. In other words this is a two part treatment; the outside is left until later to allow for landscaping and final construction because the material must remain in undisturbed soil after it is applied.
The second is called a Borate treatment. Borates are minerals that when applied to wood make it unpalatable to termites. This treatment is applied to the framing of the house before the interior walls are sheet rocked. This treatment has the added advantage of repelling other types of insects and controlling wood rot and molds on the framing. Borate treatment is also generally less expensive than conventional soil treatments.
What is a WDI report?
WDI stands for "Wood Destroying Insects". This report is required by most lenders when a home is purchased or refinanced. The results are recorded on state specific forms and are included in the closing documents for the purchase of a home. This inspection is designed to protect the buyer from investing in damaged property. Please call for pricing for a WDI inspection.
